How is Luminous different from a traditional boudoir session?
Unlike traditional boudoir photography, Luminous is less about sensuality and more about self-expression.
Created in soft, natural light, these portraits are designed to feel honest, artistic, and deeply personal. Rather than asking you to perform for the camera, Luminous invites you to simply be present.
This experience is about stepping out of the shadows and into the light. About being seen, not for who others expect you to be, but for who you are beneath the roles, responsibilities, and expectations you've carried for years.
It's not a performance, it's a recognition.

What should I wear?
Once your session is booked, I'll help you choose wardrobe pieces that fit the look and feeling you'd like to create. Many women borrow from the studio wardrobe, while others bring meaningful pieces from home.
The goal isn't to follow a formula...it's to create portraits that feel authentically you.
Should I have professional hair and makeup done?
Some women choose to schedule professional hair and makeup before their session, and I'm happy to provide recommendations for trusted local artists.
That said, it's absolutely not required. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself.
Luminous is not about perfection. It's about presence.
I've never done anything like this before. Will you help me?
Absolutely. Not a single woman you see on this website is a professional model, and they all arrived feeling nervous themselves.

When will I receive my photographs?
Your edited images will be delivered in a private online gallery within approximately two weeks of your session.
Every Luminous session includes your full gallery of digital images, with optional albums and framed artwork available if you'd like to preserve your portraits in a tangible way.

Some are celebrating a milestone birthday. Some are rediscovering themselves after motherhood. Some are marking the end of a chapter or the beginning of a new one. Others simply feel drawn to the experience and want to see themselves through a different lens.
There is no perfect reason to book a Luminous session. If something about it speaks to you, that's enough.
Do I need to lose weight before my session?
No. You deserve to exist in photographs exactly as you are today.
Part of my job is helping women feel comfortable, confident, and at ease in front of the camera. Through thoughtful styling, flattering light, and gentle direction, I'll create images you'll be proud to have for years to come.
WHAT IF I'M NERVOUS?
Almost every woman who walks through my studio door tells me she's nervous. That's completely normal.
Being photographed can feel vulnerable, especially when the experience is about more than simply smiling for the camera.
My job is to create a space where you can relax, trust the process, and simply be yourself.
By the end of the session, most women tell me they forgot they were nervous at all.
WHERE DO LUMINOUS SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Luminous sessions take place in my private, light-filled studio in Wake Forest, just outside of Raleigh, where we can create a variety of looks using beautiful natural light, simple styling, and an intentionally relaxed atmosphere.
