Traditional portraits of your child, thoughtfully finished as framed artwork for your home.
For children sitting independently through age 12.
A limited number of sessions are available each month at the Wake Forest studio.
Some portraits are meant to become part of your family history.
Heirloom Portraits are inspired by traditional childhood portraiture, reimagined with a softer, more modern perspective — thoughtfully styled, intentionally simple, and created to live beautifully in your home.
These sessions are less about personality and play, and more about presence.
With nothing to distract from the child in front of my camera, the smallest things become the story: that almost-smile. The way they hold their hands. The glimpse of the person they're becoming, right alongside the little one they still are.
With a calm and patient approach, I create portraits that feel artful and polished, but unmistakably them — beautiful now, and even more meaningful twenty years from now.
Within two weeks of your session, we'll meet back at the studio for your design and ordering appointment. You'll see your finished images, select your favorites, and I'll help you decide how you'd most love to preserve and display them.
Every collection includes finished artwork, and I'll guide you through sizing, framing and placement so you're not left staring at a screen wondering what will actually look right on your walls.

At the studio, I'll take it from here. These sessions are relaxed and unhurried, usually a quick and easy 15 minutes, with gentle direction and plenty of patience for little ones who need a few minutes to warm up.
We'll create a beautiful variety of expressions in both color and black & white, all against the simple white backdrop that gives Heirloom Portraits their timeless look.

Heirloom Portrait Sessions are offered on select days throughout the year at my Wake Forest studio, with a limited number available each month.
Once you're booked, I'll send everything you need to prepare, including simple wardrobe guidance if you'd like to bring something special from home, or access to my growing collection of classic children's clothing.

HEIRLOOM PORTRAITS
RALEIGH NC
SESSION FEE - $195 for one child; $95 each additional sibling
PHOTOGRAPHING SIBLINGS?
Every child is photographed individually so they receive their own complete set of portraits. A sibling portrait together is available as an add-on when an artwork collection is purchased for each child.
Artwork collections range from $450–$1,550 and are chosen after your session, once you’ve seen your portraits and decided what you’d most love to display in your home.
Heirloom Portraits work beautifully from the time a baby can sit independently all the way through age 12.
Yes. Additional siblings are $95 each, added to the $195 session fee. Each child is photographed individually first, so each has their own set of portraits.
At the end of the session I'll photograph them together as well. Sibling portraits are available as an add-on once an artwork collection has been chosen for each child.
That’s completely okay. Some children are ready to go the moment they walk through the door; others need a little time to settle in. I follow your child’s lead, giving them the patience and gentle direction they need to feel comfortable in front of my camera.
There’s no rush — and sometimes the quietest expressions become the portraits you love most.
Sessions are brief, usually 10-15 minutes. Children are at their best those first few minutes, and we'll stop while they're enjoying it than push for one more frame. Plan on about 30 minutes at the studio, including wardrobe and time to settle in.
Your portraits will be ready approximately two weeks after your session. We’ll meet back at the studio for your design and ordering appointment, where you’ll see your images for the first time, choose your favorites, and decide how you’d most love to enjoy them in your home.
Yes. Every artwork collection includes digital images, so you don’t have to choose between something beautiful for your home and photographs you can keep and share digitally. Select collections include the full gallery.
BEFORE THIS VERSION OF THEM CHANGES.
The baby softness disappears. Their little legs get longer. Glimpses of the person they're becoming begin appearing alongside the child you've always known.
It happens so gradually you almost don't notice — until you do.
There's no deadline for an Heirloom Portrait Session except the one your child sets. They'll never be exactly this age again.
A limited number of sessions are available each month at my Wake Forest studio.
