When should I schedule a milestone session?
My favorite ages for milestone sessions are when babies are sitting confidently on their own (usually around 6–7 months) and around their first birthday. These stages are full of personality, curiosity, and big developmental changes. But I'm always ready for any baby at any age!
Where do sessions take place?
All sessions take place in my studio in Wake Forest, NC — just a short drive from Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and anywhere else in the Triangle. The studio is open by appointment only.
What should my baby wear?
You'll have access to my studio wardrobe for babies 0–12 months, featuring a curated selection of timeless outfits designed specifically for milestone portraits.
If you'd prefer to bring your own clothing, I'm happy to offer guidance to help you choose pieces that photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your baby's personality.
What if my baby is shy or doesn't cooperate?
Every baby is different. Some babies are outgoing and adventurous. Others take a little time to warm up. Some spend the entire session exploring, while others prefer the safety of a parent's arms. And that's perfectly fine.
After more than 17 years of experience photographing babies and young children, I have oodles of patience and lots of tricks to create beautiful images no matter what.
Do you offer a baby's first year program?
Yes! Many families choose to book multiple sessions through The First Year Anthology membership. It's a simple way to save on session fees, document several milestones throughout your baby's first year, and enjoy priority scheduling and early access to special events.
Can parents & siblings be included?
Absolutely.
While milestone sessions focus on your baby, I encourage parents to step into a few photographs as well. The way your baby reaches for you, lights up when they see you, or snuggles into your arms is just as meaningful as any milestone.
Siblings are always welcome too, and we'll keep the session relaxed and child-led so everyone can have fun.
