Then, they help you access and coordinate care across hospitals, specialists, pharmacies, schools, and other community resources. I first met this fun family when mom Jenna was pregnant with her middle son, Levi, who is now seven years old. I’ve photographed them many times over the years, but no session has meant more than this latest one.
Levi recently beat leukemia – a leukemia very similar to my own. He has had the fight of his life over the past couple of years and come out so strong on the other side. He’s been an inspiration to me!
My favorite part of this session was photographing Levi with his beads of courage. The pediatric team awards these beads for children’s bravery in facing every little stick, poke, biopsy, treatment, etc. Look at how many beads this little fighter earned! I loved that his parents wanted a shot of the whole family holding the beads as well, because it wasn’t just Levi in this fight. The whole family comes together and sacrifices until the one they love is whole again. My family and I can easily relate.
I’m so glad Levi is finished with all of his treatments and can get back to the job of being a little boy with his brothers Mason and Sawyer! Levi wins!

Congrats again to Levi and his family for making it through their difficult journey!

As you pull into my studio parking lot, your mind is spinning with questions. Will the baby cry the whole time? What are we even supposed […]
