1. My nephew was born this morning at 7:06am! JJ weighed 5 lbs 8 oz and was 17 3/4 in. He was expected to weigh less than 5 lbs, so this is great news! He still went to the NICU right away, which is why you see all the tubes and wires in this picture. But he’s doing well, and is miracle #2 for my brother and his family!

2. I”m excited to do JJ’s newborn pictures over Easter weekend!

3. My dear friends Catherine and James welcomed a new addition to their family as well! I can’t wait to do Miss Harper’s newborn session this weekend!

4. I cannot believe that Claire is a month old already. It just doesn’t even seem possible! She had her 4 week check-up at the pediatrician this past Friday, and she’s up to 9 lbs 4 oz (55%) and 22 inches (80%). Another tall, skinny girl! Simply perfect.

5. Macy and I had a dance party in her room today! She inherited my old iPod, which still has a ton of old school rap on it, so we shook our booties to Notorious B.I.G., some Rob Bass and even a little Sugarhill Gang…I said a hip hop the hippie the hippie to the hip hip hop a you don’t stop the rock it to the bang bang boogie say up jumped the boogie to the rhythm of the boogie the beat…

6. My favorite part of my maternity leave is spending time together as a family. When I’m working, Mike and I never have days off together, so this time is very special to me and we’re trying to make the most of it. This past Sunday, we took Macy and Claire out to scout out a new photography location and then to Pullen Park. Unfortunately, we didn’t take many pictures, but here are a couple of Macy and I waiting in line for the carousel.

7. I love how Claire curls up her littlest toe!

8. I started taking an online Photoshop class! I’m so excited. Did you know that Wake County Schools offer online courses? I had no idea until I received a postcard in the mail. They offer classes in all sorts of areas…all sorts of computer classes, foreign languages, accounting and so on. Check it out! http://cs.wcpss.net/wcpssonline.

9. Claire slept almost constantly during her first 2 weeks of life. During weeks 3 and 4, she wanted to be held constantly. I’m happy to report that she will now let me put her down! My left arm thanks you, Claire.

10. I’m happiest when I’m productive. So regaining the use of my arm is pure joy! Speaking of being productive…bye now!
