macy has a little surprise for you…

she’s going to be a big sister! her new sibling is due February 28th, which puts me at about 12.5 weeks along. i am almost out of the first trimester, thank goodness, because this little booger is giving me lots of nausea and fatigue, as well as heartburn already! i felt very similar when i was pregnant early on with macy, but i felt like a while new person in the 2nd trimester. i’m hanging onto the hope that will be the case this time as well!

i had a first trimester screening this week, and the doctor says that the baby looks really great. especially considering they pretty much told me i. am. old. yes, i’m only 34 and technically advanced maternal age doesn’t start until age 35, but i guess they consider me close enough. all this means is a slightly higher risk for chromosomal abnormalities, but the the doctor said the baby couldn’t look better! i will get another ultrasound on September 23rd, and we’ll be able to find out the gender then, provided baby cooperates!
