macy loves to be outside so much - it’s probably her favorite thing next to yogurt and jenna. she seemed to be getting a little bored with sidewalk chalk, so we bought her a fun summer toy!

this table has sand on one side and water on the other. and she loves it!

although her favorite thing to do with it right now is to shovel the sand onto the deck…

ayden just turned one! i can’t believe how fast the year went by…and neither can his mom!

ayden is turning one soon, so we fought the full sun yesterday to try to get some shots! here’s just one…i’ll add more soon!

i love the conversations that macy and i are having lately. here’s tonight’s bedtime exchange:

macy: ball? where is it?

mommy: the ball went night-night. it’s sleeping. you can play more tomorrow.

macy: ball is sleeping?

mommy: yes, the ball is sleeping. night-night, ball.

macy: ball is sleeping. night-night, ball.

somebody recently bought her a doll cradle (okay, okay, it was me. i promise she’s not spoiled!) and she loves to put her baby down for the night in it. for some reason, this baby always sleeps on her tummy and must be covered head-to-toe with the blanket. and then we must discuss how “baby is sleeping” for at least 5 minutes. every night. good times! (i secretly love it, and i love our time together every night before bed.)

macy is having a sleep-over tonight. her little buddy ayden is turning one in a couple of weeks, and he’s just a little chunk! i should have snapped a few pictures of them playing before bedtime tonight. oh well, maybe i’ll try at breakfast tomorrow. by the way, ayden’s mom (who is a nurse) had to work tonight, and his dad is out of town…hence the sleep-over!
