macy loves - just loves - to splash around in the dogs’ water bowl. unfortunately, that also means that she likes to dip whatever toy she’s playing with at the time into the water as well…balls, blocks, the tv remote.

i know it’s too much temptation for her at this age. she just doesn’t have the impulse control yet. on the other hand, i know that she knows she’s not supposed to play in the water.

so when macy just couldn’t fight the urge the other day, she went into time out. i pulled out a kitchen chair, sat her in it, and informed her that she was in time out. it is recommended that time out last one minute per year of age, and so she sat there for one minute without much of a fuss at all.

and afterwards, in true supernanny fashion, she apologized and gave mommy a hug. :)

i love the christmas season. i love all of the decorations (tacky or not). i love it when the weather f-i-n-a-l-l-y turns a bit crisper. i love the joy in children’s faces. i almost even love the hustle and bustle at the mall. it truly is a magical time of year.

but one of my dogs is trying to ruin christmas. i don’t know if it is luka or jenna, because whoever it is being very sneaky about it…but one of them chewed up mike’s christmas stocking. she also chewed on one of mike’s gifts under the tree. hmm…maybe one of our dogs has a vendetta against mike?

do you know what a pain in the rear it is to try to order a new stocking (to match mine and macy’s) 5 days before christmas? and to have it personalized (again to match mine and macy’s)? and to try to get it here by…christmas? nope. not going to happen, unless pottery barn has a special in with santa.

mike says that’s not what christmas is all about…so who am i to be grumpy? it was his stocking. mine is still in one piece and ready for filling! :)

christmas is coming

i had the pleasure of photographing the sweetest twin 10-year old boys last weekend, along with their very cute neighbor. check ‘em out!

i must say that photographing 10-year olds is sooooo much easier than 14-month olds! i can’t keep macy in one place long enough to get a decent picture anymore…but don’t worry, i’ll keep trying!

RSV

macy has rsv. you wouldn’t know it most of the time, because she’s still pretty energetic. she gets a little fussier than normal when she’s tired, but other than that, she’s her typical happy self. she does have a nasty cough and a nose like a faucet though.

the doctor sent home a nebulizer machine. have you ever tried to give a nebulizer treatment to a wiggly, squirmy toddler? not exactly fun! at least tonight, i had mike’s help. the nurse had me give macy a treatment at the doctor’s office today…by myself. it did not go well, to say the least!

speaking of the doctor’s office…i know they have a lot of patients, a lot of sick children, especially this time of year. but i left there not having a clue what rsv was, or how to really use the nebulizer, how often to give the treatment, etc. i do know that macy received the rsv vaccine as an infant. guess that didn’t work out too well!

better run…little miss sunshine is ready for her bath!

our good friends got married this past weekend, and it was a beautiful wedding! i love terri’s wedding dress so much, i asked mike if we could get married again so i could wear it. just gorgeous! congratulations, newlyweds!

speaking of weddings…have you seen this video yet? i love it! i want to have a whole ‘nother wedding…just to wear terri’s dress and do this:
